Exploring visitor personal characteristics and aspects of time in cultural visits

"Exploring visitor personal characteristics and aspects of time in cultural visits"

Using the Falk and Dierking model for cultural visits, we will focus on aspects of temporality. Visitors need support not only during their visit, but also before and after. Different applications that support visitors before and after will be presented. In addition, the same model will be used to explore such issues regarding mixed types of visits, like hybrid, distant, online, etc seeing primarily aspects of synchronous vs. asynchronous visits. Time, however, is also important during the visit, in regards to the duration of the visit and ways to plan accordingly in relation to visitors’ personalities and preferences, length of presented content, time of the day, fitting the cultural visit within a specific time frame, etc. Again, specific examples will be presented. The talk, thus, expects to provide a short introduction into aspects of temporality and visitor needs.
